The next week went by rather slowly. I felt somewhat lonely with Jordan not there. It was Wednesday afternoon when I walked down into the kitchen and found my mom talking with a man, his back towards me. He turned around and I was shocked at who I saw. The guy I met at the airport. Sean? I think his name was. "Good Afternoon Rae." My mom said to me. "This is Sean, I hired him to help with ideas for our backyard and all the landscaping." She looked over at Sean. "Sean, this is my daughter Rae, she just came to live with me a few weeks ago." "Yes, I believe we have already met." "Oh?" My mom replied. "Yeah I met him at the airport on Sunday." I added. "What a small world we live in huh?" She said. "Yeah I suppose." "Well, I have to go meet up with someone for business, so I will talk to you guys later. Sean if you need anything just ask Rae." "Alright, will do." My mom then walked up to me and hugged me. "Bye darling." "Bye mom." She slid on her shoes and left. I highly doubted she was going to meet up with someone for the type of business she was referring to, I knew exactly what she was doing. I suppose it was nice of her to try and hide it from me and do it in a polite manner though. "So we meet again." Sean said, interrupting my thoughts. "Yes, we do." "Shall we start our conversation off to where we left it last time?" He asked. "Nice try but, I still don't know you well enough. In time though." "You are a tough one." "What can I say?" "Considering it's my break and I'm hungry how about I take you to get a bite to eat? Then maybe you'll let me in on this mysterious life of yours." "Hmmm, I suppose I could pencil you in." "Alrighty then let's go." He then took me to a near by restaurant that had pretty basic food. I finally gave in and told him about everything my life had to offer, including my dad and Blaine, and why I moved to Detroit and now Florida. After that all he could say was 'wow.' I didn't really care though, most people didn't know how to respond when I told them about how messed up it is, I was used to it.
3 months later;
Things between Jordan and I were still going pretty strong. He visited me as often as he could and I was really starting to like living in Florida. Sean and I continued to hang out on his breaks everyday which eventually led to us hanging out on the weekends. You could say he became one of my best friends. I started going to a college that was near by so I could get a job working with Sports Medicine. I already had the basic knowledge for a trainer but, I wanted more. In a couple of days I was going to go visit Pittsburgh for the first time in a long, long time. I decided that I wanted to bring Sean with me so he could meet all my friends up there. Jordan didn't know I was coming, I wanted to surprise him.
Sean and I were on our flight to Pittsburgh and he seemed pretty excited. "You seem more excited than I am." I said to him. "Yeah well I like traveling to knew places." We finally touched down, got our luggage and grabbed a taxi. The taxi eventually pulled up to Jordan's apartment. I texted him to come and open his door. "Babe!" He said while pulling me in a hug and then kissing me. "Hey, I thought I would surprise you and come up here. It has been so long." "Ah I'm so glad you are here." He replied. Then he noticed Sean. ".....and you brought a friend I'm guessing?" He didn't look entirely happy about this. "Yeah this is Sean, I met him at the airport after you boarded your plane, back when you first came to visit me. He's one of my really good friends down in Florida." Sean smiled at Jordan. "Nice to finally meet you, she talks about you all the time." He said to Jordan while sticking out his hand. Jordan reluctantly shook it. "Uh.....yeah nice to meet you too." He said back, unconvincingly. "Well, come in." Jordan said. "So are you staying with me?" "I would but, I don't want to leave Sean at a hotel by himself in a city he doesn't know." "Oh Rae, don't worry about it. I will be fine. If you want to stay with him, I'll go to a hotel." Sean said. "No Sean I don't want to have to make you do it." "Rae, he is a grown man." Jordan added. I could tell he didn't want me staying in a hotel with him. "Yeah It is completely fine with me, like I said before." "Hmm...well you won't get mad will you?" I asked. "No, I promise. Just don't forget about me." He joked. "Well uh okay. I suppose. Don't worry I'll call you to check up on you and so we can hang out. I'll come down and tell the taxi where to take you, there is a hotel just down the street." I walked him down to his car. "I don't think your boyfriend likes me very much." He said once he opened the door to the taxi. "Oh don't mind him, he's just jealous." "Okay whatever you say, I just don't want to get you in trouble with him." "You won't and if he has a problem with it then I don't really care. He'll get over it." "Alright I'll talk to you later." He wrapped me in a hug before getting in the cab. "Call me once your settled in your room." I told him. He nodded, closed the door and off he went.
