Numero Diecinueve

Standing there was Blaine. I awkwardly got up and stumbled my way over to him, I was still half asleep. He caught me in a hug. "Hey there Rae." "Hi Blaine!" "Well I'm out of here." Brett said as he walked towards the door. "Bye Brett, we should hang out sometime." I said. "Yeah, I'll talk to you later. Bye Rae, Bye Blaine." He walked out and shut the door. "Rae, you look exhausted, lets get you to bed." He grabbed my suitcases I had left by the door [because I didn't know what room he wanted me to sleep in] and led me down a long hallway. Finally we stopped at the last door. "This is going to be your room, there is a bathroom and closet for your stuff. Have a good sleep, I'll see you tomorrow." "Thanks for all this Blaine." "Your welcome, now get to sleep. Love you." With that he closed the door. I was way to tired to unpack or do anything so I just climbed into the big comfy queen bed. I couldn't understand why I was so exhausted, probably because of the stress. I soon dozed off to sleep.



I woke up, rolled over and looked at the clock. It was 4:00 in the morning. I grabbed my phone and took a quick glance at it. Eleigh had texted me around 1:00. I decided it was too late to text her back, so I set my phone back down on the night stand. I had slept so much yesterday that I didn't feel tired at all. I slid out of bed and put on a sweatshirt. I proceeded to walk downstairs. I went over to the couch and turned on the TV. There wasn't much on just a replay of a Red Wing's game. I decided to leave it on. Coincidentally it was a game against the Penguins two years ago. It was weird to watch. Somewhat like my old team and life playing against where my new life is at.


Suddenly Blaine walked out. I looked at the clock forgetting why he was awake this early, it was only 6:00. Then I quickly realized that he had to go to work in an hour. "What are you doing up so early?" He asked me. "I don't know, I slept so much yesterday now I'm wide awake." "Ah I see. Anyways, there is a job being offered to you at my work. You can come in with me and they will probably interview you and stuff." "Okay, cool. Let me just take a quick shower and get dressed." He nodded. I got off the couch, went upstairs, took a shower, and got dressed. When I walked downstairs he was waiting for me. While on the way there it was silent until he spoke up. "Look Rae, I know this is hard for you moving up here, quiting the job that you loved, leaving your friends, and everything with Jordan but, just try to make this work. Okay?" "Yeah, okay." I had been trying to not think of those things lately. I didn't want to be reminded of everything I had recently lost and how my life was just turned upside down. I guess I didn't really have a choice though, I had to face it now. Just then we turned into the parking lot. We both got out of the car. We started walking towards the Joe Louis Arena. This was the start to my new life in Detroit.
